Complete run of 1940s editions, including one of the most desirable of all Wisdens. The 1949 volume covers the 1948 Australian tour of England, the single most successful international tour of all time, by any nation. Two bowlers, Johnston and Johnson took over 200 wickets each, and four other bowlers 100+ wickets each. The 1949 volume also contains a biography of Sir Donald Bradman by R.C. Robertson-Glasgow, and an article on W.G. Grace's Centenary.

10 volumes, octavo (160 x 104mm). Illustrations (some light cockling of last few leaves to 1942 vol., light creasing to a few corners of 1944; 1948 heavily browned towards margins; 1949 with spotting to edges but textblock clean). Original publisher's cloth (lower corners of covers of 1944, 1946 and 1947 unevely discoloured). Provenance: 'S.C.C.' (initials inked on top edges of 1941 and 1942 vols).
