The canvas has been subject to relining, it is held under tension and remains stable. Examination in natural light shows some scattered retouching that has marginally discoloured, specifically to the sky at upper right. There is a yellowed varnish that carries some dirt. Examination under UV light confirms the aforementioned retouching to the sky. There has also been some scattered retouching in the foliage of the trees to the left of the canvas and running along ground at the lower edge. The figures and the detailing of the landscape remain well preserved and the paint is stable.
