Lot Essay

Introduced at Baselworld 2014, this watch from Arnold & Son features dual independently adjustable time displays, two visible dial-side tourbillons, and a 90-hour power reserve. While this level of complexity would be a highlight for many brands, it fits naturally into Arnold & Son’s technically focused lineup.

The dial remains balanced and legible despite the dual time zones and twin tourbillons—something not easily achieved with such complications. It features a silvered finish with Côtes de Genève decoration, two white lacquered sub-dials, and skeletonized blued hands. Roman numerals are used on the upper sub-dial at 12 o’clock, and Arabic numerals on the lower one at 6 o’clock.

The tourbillons are linked by a skeletonised pink gold bridge and each completes a full rotation in under one minute. The 8.35mm-thick movement includes two mainspring barrels, each powering a separate tourbillon, providing a 90-hour reserve. The watch runs on the Calibre A&S8513, finished with Geneva stripes, a pearlized main plate, circular-grained wheels, and polished gold chatons—demonstrating a high standard of movement finishing.
