The Jules Audemars collection, named after one of the brand’s two founding fathers, is known for its classically inspired designs and traditional high complications. This particular timepiece masterfully combines a minute repeater with a jump hour display in an elegant and sophisticated package.
Crafted entirely in noble platinum, the watch features a silvered dial adorned with applied blued minute markers set on a satin-brushed chapter ring, which beautifully frames a guilloché center. At 12 o’clock, a digital hour display marks the passage of time, while a central minutes hand makes a graceful sweep around the dial.
The jump hour complication, originally developed by Austrian engineer Josef Pallweber in 1883 for pocket watches, made its way into wristwatches during the 1920s. Renowned watchmakers such as Cartier, Vacheron Constantin, Audemars Piguet, and Breguet embraced the innovation, which displays the hour through a dial aperture that changes—or "jumps"—precisely at the top of the hour.
Powering the watch is the hand-finished, manually-wound Cal. 2907, visible through a sapphire crystal caseback. The modern 43-mm platinum case showcases a sophisticated blend of satin-brushed and polished surfaces, highlighting the brand’s commitment to fine craftsmanship.
