Founded in 1980 by Jacob Arabo in New York, the jeweler soon gained a reputation among celebrities. In 2002, Jacob & Co. officially launched their very first timepiece with an emphasis on creating extravagant timepieces set with exquisite gem-stones.
The present hourglass timer from Jacob & Co. in plated brass is presented with a spinning and illuminated stand featuring yellow gems that fall effortlessly in the hour glass. The combination of the stunning yellow/ gold colours and the gems which appear to be floating is sure to enchant anybody who comes across. Combined with the multi-time zones, this hour glass makes for the perfect desk-clock, the only danger being that you won’t be able to take your eyes off it!

Condition report
A Christie's specialist may contact you to discuss this lot or to notify you if the condition changes prior to the sale.
The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
OVERALL CONDITION: The hour glass is in very fine overall condition. CASE: The case is in very good condition for its age. It retains its original proportions and isn’t noticeably scratched, marked or dented. Some age can be seen on the brass but this is entirely natural GLASS/ DIAL: The glass appears to be in excellent condition. The dials on the either side of the hour glass are in excellent condition. MOVEMENT: Ticking at the time of cataloguing. However, we do not test the movement for accuracy. A service is recommended. BASE: The base appears to be in very good condition. Some minor surface scratches can be seen. There is a very small crack next to the clock depicting London but this is not immediately visible. Some natural age to the bronze can be seen.
