PATEK PHILIPPE, NAUTILUS REF. 3800/001, A FINE AND ATTRACTIVE GOLD AUTOMATIC WRISTWATCH
Launched in 1981, the Patek Philippe reference 3800 was a wonderful new addition to the Nautilus family. Measuring 37.5mm, the timepiece had a broader selection of dial configurations, metals, and diamond-embellishment options, making the mid-size timepiece a more approachable option to a wider audience. The present lot, reference 3800/001 is an attractive Nautilus constructed from 18k yellow gold. The watch has a ridged, gilt dial and an 18k yellow gold integrated bracelet. Although enhanced, the lineage of model remains in conjunction with the design language of the original reference 3700 “Jumbo.”
