BUCKLE: Platinum Patek Philippe pin buckle
WITH: Patek Philippe Certificate of Origin dated 3 July 1996 confirming production of the present watch with an “ardoise” or slate grey dial, diamond-set numerals and 40 baguette-cut diamonds of 2.97 carats.

Lot Essay

Patek Philippe's reference 3990 was produced from 1995 until the launch of the 5971P in 2007. The Ref. 3990 was the first jewelry complicated wristwatch produced by Patek Philippe in series and was made in yellow gold, white gold, and platinum. It is believed that only 5 pieces were made in platinum. This watch is one of only three ref. 3990 in platinum to appear in public to date. The watches were delivered with an additonal caseback, expect in platinum wherein the additonal caseback was optional.
