Lot Essay

Amongst the most highly coveted timepieces, the Rolex Daytona has established itself as a true icon within the world of watch collecting. From its origination, the model has encountered a multitude of variations from dials to cases and movements, all illustrating the incessant quest for innovations of Rolex, while staying true to its heritage.

Launched in 1969, the Rolex reference 6265 was unveiled alongside the reference 6263, and manufactured in steel, 18k and 14k gold. Equipped with the calibre 727 beating to 21,600 alternations per hour, the chronographs were fitted with screw-down push buttons and guaranteed waterproof, which lead to the “Oyster” script to be featured on their dials.

This example, in nice, original condition is a rare example given its accompaniment of its box and papers.
