Lot Essay

The Piccadilly is the first wristwatch from indie watch brand Speake-Marin and was launched in 2002. It was notable for its enamel dial and its distinct drum-like case with screwed lugs. The name is a reference to Piccadilly workshop in London were the founder Peter Speak-Marin spent seven years restoring antique timepieces, the enamel dial is inspired by the design of the antique pocket watches he restored. The watch is powered by the Eros 2 Calibre, a self-winding movement featuring a five-day power reserve and the signature Speake-Marin ‘mystery’ rotor.
