Lot Essay

The present watch is an extremely attractive example of what Audemars Piguet was capable of procuding before the Royal Oak became its emblem. In the 1950s, Audemars Piguet did not have boutiques in the US and therefore had a partnership with Cartieras well as Tiffany & Co to sell their watches on American ground. The watch is marked with Cartier's stock numbers on the back.
