According to the Archives of IWC, the present watch was sold in 2009. Consigned by the original owner it is preserved in very good overall condition.

Part of the Vintage Collection made to celebrate 140 years of IWC 1868-2008, this impressively sized 46 mm. manual winding watch pays homage to IWC’s distinguished heritage.

The moonphase at 12 o'clock is highly accurate with a deviation rate of only 1 day for every 122 years. In a departure from the original design of the Portofino Moonphase of 1984 where the moon phases and seconds are placed at 3 o’clock and 9 o’clock, the use of the 98800-caliber movement enabled IWC to place the moon phase and seconds displays in the traditional 12 and 6’clock positions, respectively.

The 18 jewel movement features a nickel-plated nickel-silver three-quarter plate, screw balance adjusted to five positions, Breguet balance spring and elongated index. The display case back allows the exceptional finish and beauty of the movement to be appreciated by the owner.
