Rolex launched the GMT-Master in 1954 in order to provide pilots a watch that could read 24 hour time for a selected time zone. The present example is the latest version of the GMT-Master II from Rolex, with its most distinguished feature, the ceramic black and blue bezel. This watch has gained popularity with collectors and has been nicknamed, the “Batgirl” because of its black and blue accents as well as the introduction of a more dressy, Jubilee bracelet.
