The large central medallion features a repousse facing head of Medusa. Necklaces of this sort were common during the Roman period in Egypt. Small hole to tip of nose. Hook and eye-clasp attaching chain to medallion to proper right side and domed bosse is restored. The other three domed bosses are slightly crushed and the top one with a crack. 'MM.2011.676' inscribed in black ink on reverse of medallion. Overall with minor wear and scratches.
