Lot Essay

The moulded decoration is in two registers: the upper is decorated by winding stems, some with leaf terminals including stipular and trefoil forms, others with flower-heads and bounded in rows of dots. The lower frieze repeats the dots at the top and alternates panels filled with pomegranates and other foliate forms with semi-circular wreaths containing two birds between large ivy leaves. The interior is stamped with 'DARRA FE(cit)', 'done by Darra'.
