The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The drawing is executed on two large joined sheets, which appear to be laid down onto a secondary support. There are small nicks and tears at the edges, and drawing pin holes at the upper corners. There is an area of damp staining along the lower edge. On close examination, there are areas of scattered retouching in the brown wash, throughout the sheet. The penwork is strong, and the drawing reads well. This work was not examined out of its frame in the preparation of this condition report.
