Condition report
A Christie's specialist may contact you to discuss this lot or to notify you if the condition changes prior to the sale.
The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
The work is structurally sound. There are nail heads visible along the edges, coherent with the construction of the carrier/frame. The upper slat of the frame is slightly cracked. There are some soft handling marks and other small defects to the wooden frame. There is some soft staining in places. There is wear to the extreme edges and corners. There is a material loss to the lower right corner. There are surface irregularities in places, coherent with the artist's working process. Examination under ultraviolet light shows no indication of inpainting. It is our opinion that the work is in good condition.
