The wood panel is in good condition with an old cradle support. Examination under raking light reveals the paint surface to be in generally good condition with some old minor tenting to the paint in the sky which has been consolidated. With minor scattered discoloured retouchings, which are slightly more prominent to the central panel join on the left hand side of the painting. Examination under ultra violet fluorescence confirms these minor scattered retouchings. Some minor abrasions to the edges of the panel where it comes into contact with the frame. Not examined out of its frame. Overall the painting is in very good condition, retaining its strong colouring and fluid brushstrokes.
