The canvas, stretcher and attachments appear to be in generally good condition. There are minor handling marks in places, most notably to the edges. There are faint hairline abrasions to the centre passage, only visible under strong raking light. When examined under ultraviolet light there appears to be no evidence of any retouching. Subject to the foregoing, it is our view that the work appears to be in generally good condition.
