The work has not been examined outside its artist's frame. Faint wear and minute losses are intermittently to the frame, presumably in keeping with the artist's working method. A fine layer of surface dust and scattered fibrous accretions are present. Faint abrasions and pinpoint losses are intermittently. Hairline drying cracks are intermittently to the figure, and a pinpoint abrasion with associated paint loss is to the lower edge left of center. There is no apparent inpainting visible under ultraviolet light.
