The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

Le tableau est peint sur un panneau composé de plusieurs planches. On constate les traces d’un ancien renfort au revers. Le tableau est à présent maintenu par un nouveau système de parquetage et différents taquets.
Le panneau a été légèrement aminci et conserve un léger biseau.
Les jointures des planches sont visibles sur la surface peinte et ont entraîné des craquelures ayant fait l’objet de restauration.
On constate quelques départs de fentes dans la partie supérieure à gauche notamment.
Le tableau a perdu en glacis notamment dans les bruns. On constate que certaines parties ont été renforcées (les tons sombres de certains chevaux ou tuniques de cavaliers).
A l’UV. On constate les retouches le long des fentes précédemment mentionnées ainsi que des restaurations dans le ciel.
Le vernis est uniforme et masque les anciennes campagnes de restauration visibles à l’œil nu.

The painting is on a panel made up of several boards. Traces of an old reinforcement can be seen on the reverse. The painting is now held in place by a new parquet system and various cleats.
The panel has been thinned slightly and retains a slight bevel.
The joints between the boards are visible on the painted surface and have caused cracking, which have been restored.Some cracks have appeared, particularly in the upper left-hand part.
The painting has lost some of its glaze, particularly in the browns. Some areas have been reinforced (the dark tones of certain horses or riders' tunics).
Under UV light, retouching can be seen along the cracks mentioned above, as well as restorations in the sky.
The varnish is uniform and masks the previous restoration campaigns visible to the naked eye.
