The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The edges are slightly deckled with faint discolouration. Pinpoints foxing are intermittently scattered across the surface, predominantly in the upper part of the sheet, with four areas of foxing being more pronounced. One foxing spot with an associated small hole is visible on the neck, and another is located near the arm of the figure. Upon close inspection, one faint fold mark measuring approximately 21.5 centimeter to the upper right edge. Negligible faint creases to the four corners. On the reverse, the condition is consistent with the aforementioned condition observed on the front. Faint traces of paper consolidation are visible along the right edge with one drop of ink. Cappellin's seal and reference number 266. Subject to the foregoing, it is in our opinion that the work is in overall good condition.
