Wear with fine tension cracking and associated losses is to the corner tips and turning edges. Drying cracks and hairline cracks are occasional, mostly concentrated to the extreme edges. Two radial cracks are to the central figure's proper right leg. Regions of lifting that have been stabilized are intermittent, one more notably to the brown painted passage in the lower right quadrant. Minor rubbing is to several areas of impasto, with a few minor associated losses to the beige painted passages on the central figure, and two to the yellow painted passage of his hand. Visible under raking light, there are a few faint curvilinear abrasions. Tiny accretions are to the yellow painted passage just right of center, and another small area of drip accretions is to the lower left corner. Surface variation is in keeping with the artist's choice of medium and working method. There is no apparent inpainting visible under ultraviolet light.
