Lot Essay

Launched in 2000, Patek Philippe Reference 5110 World Time lived a relatively short production span with its discontinuation in 2006. Featuring 24 cities, the precise and legible dial has an attractive pop of colour with a cornflower blue guilloche centre. The guilloche is handcrafted using the traditional manufacturing technique with a rose engine machine.

A diamond is hidden between the lower lugs to distinguish that the timepiece is made of platinum. A pusher at 10 o’clock allows for an instantaneous change of the time zone making Reference 5110 an excellent companion for world travellers.

Patek Philippe inhouse Caliber 240 HU features a 22k yellow gold micro-rotor to help the watch maintain slimness while still being capable of automatic winding. The movement features hand finished Côtes de Genève and anglage bevelling that demonstrate the mastery of beauty and craftsmanship Patek Philippe watchmakers are capable of.
