The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

La toile a fait l'objet d'un rentoilage ; elle est maintenue sous tension sur un châssis à clés et reste stable.
L'examen à la lumière naturelle montre que les détails des bateaux et de la mer sont bien conservés. Les couches supérieures de matière dans le ciel sont légèrement amincies et des retouches ponctuelles sont visibles. On observe également un fin réseau de craquelures dans le ciel.
L'examen sous lumière UV confirme ce qui précède. L'ensemble est recouvert d'un vernis légèrement jauni.
La matière reste stable.

The canvas has been subject to relining; it is held under tension on a keyed stretcher and remains stable.
Examination in natural light shows the details of the boats and the sea to be well preserved. There has been some thinning to the upper paint layers in the sky, and scattered retouching can be seen. There is also a fine pattern of craquelure that can be seen in the sky.
Examination under UV light confirms the above. The whole is under a slightly yellowed varnish.
The paint remains stable.
