Really Rosie is a musical adaptation of a several of Sendak's works, including Chicken Soup with Rice (1962) and The Star on Rosie's Door (1960). Carole King provided the music for Sendak's stories. The work was first shown as an animated TV special on CBS in 1975, and was followed by a 1980 Off-Broadway production which was revived in 2017. This preliminary drawing varies slightly from the final poster; “Really Rosie” here has five-pointed stars in the R's and A's counters and one as the I’s tittle.
