The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

There are the inevitable minor surface scratches, chips and abrasions due to age and handling.
As stated in the catalogue the socle and busts are carved from the same piece of marble. Some minor surface dirt to both, the busts would benefit from a light clean.

Bacchus: Minor natural cracks to the socle.

Ceres: with a stain to the proper left shoulder which could be easily cleaned. The pupils of Ceres have been drilled possibly at a later date. An area of natural discoloration of the marble on her neck. The back right corner of the socle with a loss. With a small hole to the back.

Overall good condition. Highly decorative and ready to place.
