Finora non ho mai inventato alcunché, l'ho sempre trovato. La fantasia è qualcosa di esistente. Se siamo capaci di immaginare che la fantasia sia un magnetismo reale, con onde magnetiche vere e proprie, cominceremo anche a credere al suo potere. Una invenzione va inventata per se stessi. Se l'arte inventa sé per se stessa, sarà capace anche di reagire alla turbolenza della storia dell'uomo non mediante evasione ma con l'immaginazione. L'arte si riconosce più per la fantasia che per l'evasione e la dispersione.

Until now I have never invented anything, I have always found it. Fantasy is something that exists. If we are able to imagine that fantasy is real magnetism, with real magnetic waves, we will also begin to believe in its power. An invention must be invented for yourself. If art invents itself for itself, it will also be able to react to the turbulence of human history not by evasion but by imagination. Art is recognised more by imagination than by evasion and dispersion.
