- The patinated and gilt bronze with rubbing, oxidation, a slight build up of surface dirt in deep crevices, and with some areas of verdigris, including to the monster's talons. With some loss to the patination at raised areas, including the tips of the waves, possibly done intentionally by the artist. With some very minor surface wear overall with very faint surface scuffs, light scratches and some minor dings, consistent with handling. Max's whiskers slightly bent out of straight.
