The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
The work is structurally sound. Surface variation and hairline cracks, some with associated lifting and spots of loss, are scattered to the preserved bread, presumably a vestige of the artist's working method and choice of medium. A tiny hairline crack is to the nail of the big toe. There is no apparent inpainting visible under ultraviolet light.
