Condition report
A Christie's specialist may contact you to discuss this lot or to notify you if the condition changes prior to the sale.
The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
This report was prepared by Alvarez Fine Art Services, Inc.:
This watercolor and pencil on paper is in good condition overall. The paper does not present tears, paper losses, or planar distortions. The paper is sporadically glued around its verso edges to an acidic gray board and then to a corrugated board. There is a scratch in the upper left quadrant and some pigment abrasions in the bottom center near the edge which are both original to the artist technique during execution. Some paper and adhesive residue are present along the top edge from a previous acidic top mat. Visually, the paper is clean and does not exhibit signs of discoloration or toning from light exposure. One small spot of incipient foxing is present in the upper left quadrant. There is a moderate mat burn noticeable from a previous acidic mat 1" in on the top and right edges and at the
extreme left edge. Otherwise, the media appears to be well preserved.
