The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

Les tableaux sont executés sur d'épais panneaux de noyer. Ils sont chacun renforcés par deux larges traverses dans la partie supérieure et inférieure. Le panneau représentant saint Antoine possède également un renfort incrusté dans la partie supérieure gauche.
Au revers, on constate de nombreuses cavités d'insectes xylophages, inactifs aujourd'hui. Les cavités ont fragilisé surtout la partie inférieure du tableau représentant saint Antoine.
On constate également au revers les marques des clous de jointures des planches.

On constate un réseau de craquelures assez prononcé.
On constate sur les deux d'anciennes restaurations ayant viré (drapés, carnations).
L'examen à la lumière UV révèle de multiples restaurations ponctuelles réparties sur toute la composition (cheveux, drapés pour Marguerite ; les restaurations du panneau représentant saint Antoine sont principalement réparties dans son manteau).

The paintings are executed on thick walnut boards. Each is reinforced to the reverse by two large crossbars at the top and bottom. The panel depicting Saint Anthony also has an additional reinforcement inlaid in the upper left section. On the reverse, numerous cavities caused by historic woodworm can be seen, these are now inactive. The cavities have weakened the lower part of the panel representing Saint Anthony in particular. Nail marks from the joints between the boards are also visible on the reverse and to the front.
In natural light a fairly pronounced network of craquelure can be observed. Both panels show evidence of old restoration that has since discolored (notably in the draperies and flesh tones).
Ultraviolet examination reveals minor scattered retouching across the entire composition, most notably in Saint Margaret's hair and draperies, and in Saint Anthony's mantle.
