The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
It is in our opinion that the work is in overall good condition. Back of the work cannot be checked. The silk and paint layer are stable and in good condition. Pinholes around the edges of the work, which are consistent with the artist’s painting process. Slightly deckled edges. Tiny spots of paint loss and material loss around the corners and the edges. A short line of flaking on upper left. A few negligibly light scratches on upper left. Stable and minor paint flaking and craquelures scatter, predominantly on impasto areas, sometimes associated with tiny paint losses. A repaired tear on upper right, measuring ca. 3 cm. Pinpoint accretions scatter occasionally. Minor creases could be observed occasionally around the edges. When examined under ultraviolet light, tiny traces of retouching show.
