The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
In addition to the catalogue description:
- the watermark very prominent, the left outline of the Coat of Arms partially split.
- two repaired holes, one on the text tablet at centre to the right, another on Erasmus's collar behind his head, the latter skilfully touched in with pen and ink.
- the tip of the upper right corner made up with pen and ink, tiny paper losses, partially made up, at the extreme tips of the lower corners.
- another tiny paper loss at the upper sheet edge at centre, skilfully made up with pen and ink.
- a few short tears, nicks, holes and thin spots along the sheet edges elsewhere, skilfully supported.
- a tiny paper inclusion touching the 'D' of the monogram.
- a horizontal soft crease at centre, across the sleeve and vase, mainly visible in raking light and verso.
- a hair impacted in the paper on the left page of the book.
- inscribed gst (?) in pencil verso.
- tiny remains of old adhesive along the sheet edges verso.
- the sheet slightly cockled, presumably as it was previously glued down to an album sheet.
Otherwise as described.
