The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The sheet is hinged at the corners to the backing board and undulates slightly. The sheet has sifted slightly in tone. The upper edge of the sheet is deckled with a few tiny nicks and minute tears. Soft creases are occasional, most notably a horizontal one across the upper register. Spots of stray media and faint handling marks are occasional, some presumably studio-related. A few tiny accretions are to the lower register. Faint spots of discoloration are to the upper corners, corresponding to the hinges. There is no apparent inpainting visible under ultraviolet light.
