This relined canvas remains stable on its stretcher and is held under tension. In raking light, extensive restoration can be seen particularly in the water and in the sky, as well as to damages along the lower left and lower quadrant of the canvas, associated with damages suffered from the canvas previously resting on its old stretcher. There are further damages along the edges of the canvas, associated with frame wear. Ultraviolet examination confirms the above and reveals a thick, old and yellowing varnish which precludes further examination of the canvas.
