The canvas is relined. The pigment layer is stable and under a clear varnish that has yellowed with age. There is overall uneven craquelure. Under natural light, scattered areas of retouching is visible. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals multiple campaigns of restoration. Scattered retouching, craquelure fill and lines of stregthening are evident, but further inspection is hindered by an opaque varnish. The painting should be hung in its present state. The work is offered with a carved giltwood frame.
