拍品专文

Designed in the early 1970s, Paul Evans’s 'Cityscape' or 'Chrome 200' series for the Directional Furniture Company, is characterized by its bold use of polished chrome panels assembled into highly sculptural, architectural forms that evoke urban skylines. Rejecting the restraint of mid-century modernism, Evans embraced a dramatic, almost Brutalist aesthetic, combining industrial materials with luxurious craftsmanship. Each piece was meticulously hand-fabricated, with mirrored steel surfaces joined through complex patchwork construction, producing works that function as both furniture and reflective sculptures.
