The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
The plaques in overall good condition and ready to hang. The red marble backplates with very minor nicks and 'nibbles' to the edges, particularly the wall facing side. One plaque with a shallow chip to the upper left corner facing the wall edge. Both oval plaques with expected light surface abrasions consistent with age. The gilding of the oval frames with light tarnish and dirt.
Plaque 'A' (depicting a female maiden) with very minute losses to the inlay, for example to the dog's hind feet.
Plaque 'B' (male figure and waterfall) with apparent restorations throughout, some with associated fill between the various specimen marble, generally localized to the lower right third. The upper edge with losses to the tree branches, now with overpainting.
