The canvas, stretcher and attachments appear to be in generally good condition. There is a fine layer of surface dust. There are a few fibrous accretions in places to the figure's hair and a pinpoint accretion to the upper left corner. There are a few horizontal creases and hairline cracks in places with associated losses, most notably to the edges. When examined under ultraviolet light there are a number of areas which fluoresce in a manner consistent with retouching, most notably to the extreme edges.
