The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

Cette toile a fait l'objet d'un rentoilage. Elle est correctement maintenue sous tension sur son châssis et est dans un état stable, les coups de pinceau texturés de l'artiste étant encore très appréciables.

On constate une petite perte de matière sur l'un des nuages. L'inspection à la lumière naturelle révèle quelques petites zones de retouche visibles.

L'examen à l'UV confirme ces retouches ainsi que d'autres zones restaurées. La toile présente quelques déchirures restaurées, notamment une déchirure dans le coin supérieur gauche, une déchirure horizontale plus importante de 18 cm au centre en haut et une autre au niveau du cou de Dieu le Père. Les bords ont été retouchés, probablement à la suite d'un dommage causé par le cadre.

This relined canvas retains a good tension on its stretcher and is in stable condition, with the textured brushstrokes of the artist still highly appreciable.

There is a small paint loss to one of the clouds. Inspection in natural light reveal some small flecks of retouching visible.

Ultra-violet fluorescence examination confirms these and some other passages of restoration. There are some repaired tears to the canvas, including a tear to the upper left corner, a larger 7 inch horizontal tear to the centre top and another across the neckline of God the father. There are retouchings to the borders, possible as a result of frame damage.
