The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

In addition to the catalogue description:

- the sheets with some minor pale staining and scattered foxing, and occasionally some thin spots.
- remains old hinges and traces of old mounting card verso.
- Ceres, Juno and Pluto with watermark Small Orb, the others without watermark.
- Saturn laid down onto thin greenish card.
- Mars with a small, backed paper loss at the upper left corner.
- the plates inscribed in pencil and brown ink verso.
- mounted to five cardboard mounts.
