Le tableau a fait l'objet d'un rentoilage. La toile est maintenue sous une tension correcte sur un châssis à clés et reste stable.
Le tableau présente bien à la lumière naturelle, tous les détails de la composition étant bien préservés. La surface de la peinture présente un réseau de craquelures. À certains endroits, notamment sur la jupe et la poitrine de la figure féminine centrale et dans le paysage en haut au centre, celles-ci ont été stabilisées et ont fait l'objet de quelques retouches. Une grande partie du genou gauche de la femme assise a été restaurée et a légèrement vité. D'autres retouches sont visibles sur la jupe de la femme assise. Les retouches ont viré avec le temps. La matière picturale présente trois fines griffures, l'une sur l'épaule du flûtiste, l'autre au-dessus de la tête de la servante et la dernière sur le bord supérieur gauche. Le vernis a jauni et est quelque peu encrassé.
L'examen sous lumière UV confirme tout ce qui précède. On constate une autre zone de restauration entre le personnage en bleu et la femme assise. La matière reste stable.

The canvas has been subject to relining, it is held under correct tension on a keyed stretcher and remains stable.
The painting presents well in natural light, with all the details of the composition well preserved. There is a pattern of craquelure across the paint surface. In certain areas, notably the central female figure's skirt and chest and in the landscape at upper centre, this has been stabilised and has some associated retouching. There is a large area of restoration to the seated woman's proper left knee, which has slightly discoloured. There is further scattered retouching in the seated female's skirt. The retouching has discoloured with age. There are three hairline scratches to the paint surface, one to the shoulder of the flute player, one above the head of the female attendant and one to the upper left edge. The varnish has yellowed and carries some dirt.
Examination under UV light confirms all the above. There is a further area of restoration between the figure in the blue and the seated woman. The paint remains stable.
