拍品专文

Introduced in 1948, reference 2442 stands as one of the most distinctive and refined rectangular watches in Patek Philippe’s history. The model, which was manufactured until about 1960, is known for its elegantly curved, flowing case, which gave it the loving name 'Marilyn' from collectors due to its delicate lines. Its extreme rarity is highlighted by the fact that the majority of examples were made of yellow gold, with only a small number made of pink gold, such as the present timepiece, and only three known to exist in platinum, according to scholarship.

At its core is the caliber 9-90, a beautifully crafted rectangular movement that is only used in Patek Philippe's shaped timepieces. This technical and aesthetic harmony perfectly captures the brand's dedication to unwavering craftsmanship and design coherence.
