Le tableau possède une jolie matière et a préservé des nuances dans les sombres et la dentelle. Le tableau a fait l'objet d'un rentoilage, un peu sec qui a légèrement tassé la matière. A la lumière UV, on constate des restaurations le long des quatre bords, probablement dûes à des frottements du cadre. On constate des restaurations ponctuelles dans l'épaule gauche du modèle ainsi que quelques restaurations ponctuelles (de la taille d'une tête d'épingle) réparties sur l'ensemble de la composition (principalement dans les parties claires). The canvas has been subject to relining, it is held under correct tension on a keyed stretcher and remains stable.
In natural light the painting presents very well, having retained all the nuances in the dark tones and lace. The fluidity of paint application remains fully appreciable. There is a fine network of craquelure, most visible in the paler areas. This is stable.

Under UV light, retouching can be seen along the four edges, probably due to historic frame abrasion. There are isolated areas of restoration on the model's left shoulder and a some very minor scattered retouching across the composition, notably in the light areas. Under a fine, uniform varnish.
