This impressive and highly complicated platinum Blancpain LeBrassus Perpetual Calendar Split Second Chronograph ref. 4286P-3442A-55B is number 48 from a limited edition of 100 examples launched in 2003. It is preserved in very good overall condition.

The split seconds chronograph has a flyback function so that the reset function can be used without the need to first stop the chronograph. In regular chronographs you need to stop, reset, and restart the chronograph if you want to time an event after you have started the chronograph.

This watch has a co-axial crown at 3 o'clock and two push pieces at 2 and 4 o'clock. The flyback function is controlled by the button at 4 o'clock whereas the one at 2 o'clock is used to start and stop the chronograph. The co-axial button in the crown is used to either stop or rejoin the split second hand.
