The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The sheet is hinged at the corners to the backing board and undulates slightly. Artist's pinholes are to the upper corners, and handling marks are to the left edge, in keeping with the artist's working method. Minor wear and soft creases are occasionally to the edges and corners. Fine abrasions are occasional, most notably near the edges. There is no apparent inpainting visible under ultraviolet light.
