Gustave Renault opened his workshop in 1917 and soon became one of Cartier's favourite supplier, providing the internationnally renowned company with high end jewellery pieces and objects, such as this delicate vanity case. In 1930, a couple of years after Renault passed away and Cartier bought his atelier.
