A wooden strip frame is affixed to the side edges of the canvas. Minor wear is to the corner tips and turning edges, and fine hairline cracks are scattered to the turning edges. Drying cracks with some associated losses are scattered, notably three areas of loss near the large blue and white flag. Under ultraviolet light, areas at the lower edge fluoresce; these areas appear shiny in natural light, either from artist's material or conservation.
