Le tableau est sur sa toile d'origine qui gondole légèrement.

A l'oeil nu, on constate un manque au niveau du coin inférieur droit, et un petit enfoncement dans la partie inférieure du baquet d'eau. On constate un léger réseau de craquelures, principalement visibles dans les éléments de nature morte. On devine une zone de restauration au centre du bord droit.

The canvas is unlined, it shows some slight warping.

In natural light, a minor paint loss can be seen in the lower right corner, as well as a small dent in the lower part of the cistern. A fine network of craquelure is visible, mainly in the still-life elements. A restored area can be discerned to the center of the right edge. The painting is covered with a thick, dirty varnish that would benefit from cleaning.

The thick varnish prevents a more detailed examination of the work under ultraviolet light, though some retouching can be seen on the jug in the lower right corner.
