The sheets are hinged at the corners to their backing boards, undulate slightly, and the edges are discolored, most notably along the left lower edge of the upper sheet. A few small passages of skinning are along the perimeters of both sheets, presumably in keeping with the artist's working method and not affecting the images. Under ultraviolet light, a few pinpoint spots of discoloration are occasionally to the margins. There is no apparent inpainting visible under ultraviolet light.
